Happy Monday

I hope all of you had a great 4th of July, a great weekend and now are having a great week.

Last week was a rough week for me spiritually. I was so ready to give up. Here is just one thing that happened this week.
My sweet mother who is in the rehabilitation area of a nursing home was not picked up Friday the 4th for her 2pm dialysis appointment. It all started when I received a call on my cell phone. It sounded something like this:
Mom: Hi Linda! I bet your surprised to be hearing from me.
Me: Hi Mom! Why are you still at rehab? Shouldn't you be at dialysis by now? (It's 2:15 pm & I am looking at the number she called from. She called from rehab.)
Mom: No, I don't have dialysis today
Me: Well sure you do. I know you don't have therapy today, but you most certainly have dialysis
Mom: No, I'm off today
Me: I'll be right there
Mom: Ok, see you soon
I got off the phone and called her dialysis center and they were all there waiting for her. I drove to rehab and went straight to the nurses station. I asked why mom didn't get picked up and they were all clueless. It was a huge mystery. I offered to drive her to her appointment and pick her up but they insisted on having the regular company Medi Car come and pick her up. I waited with her until they arrived ~ around 3pm. My mom was so confused and upset. It doesn't take much for her to cry these days with all that she has been through. I felt horrible waving goodbye to her as she was lifted up into the van. I called her to make sure she arrived there safely and all was well.
Ok, so now I go home and pick up everyone and we head over to our friends for a BBQ and fireworks for the kids. Around 7:30pm I receive a call from the nurse at the dialysis center telling me that Medi Car did not pick up mom. She should have been picked up at 6pm. I insist on picking her up but the nurse tells me she called the company and someone is already on their way to get her. Talk about stress!!! I called the company and they apologized over and over. They reassured me that there was a mix up due to the holiday and that the driver was in route and would be there in 5 - 10 minutes. Meanwhile my mom's cell phone battery is dying. I have her hang up to save the battery for one last call to me letting me know she has been picked up. My stomach was in total knots. I received a call from the nurse around 7:50 telling me mom was picked up. What a mess! I can't wait until she is home with me for good.

Joshua

My little Josh always keeps me on my toes. He cracks me up, makes me think, and surprises me all the time with what he has to say about life.
Josh turned 5 in May so now he says he's BIG. He tells everyone he's going to school in a couple of months, and he can't wait. He told me this morning that he never wants to be home schooled, he wants to be real-schooled. He just asked me a second ago how old I was when I started losing my baby teeth and I told him I think I was 6 yrs. old. He tells me that he thinks his will be coming out soon and that he heard if you eat a lot of candy your teeth will fall out. I assured him that this would not be the best way to lose your baby teeth, HA! I wish he wasn't in such a hurry to grow up.
Have a great day!!

Where have I been?

Whoa, I just looked at the date of my last post!! I haven't posted anything since April!! I need to get it together.
Things are starting to look up around here. Mom is in rehab (for the 3rd time) and is hopefully going to be home with us again real soon. She has been through so much! I am going to see her in a little while and hopefully I will be able to kidnap her for a few hours. I'd like to take her out shopping and bring her home for a little while.
I have to hang around the house until 3pm today. FedEx is going to make their final attempt to deliver a package to me between now and 3pm. They are delivering my laptop back to me, yeah. My hard drive died so I had to send it off to Tennessee for repairs. I am using my teenage sons computer right now while he is out of town, till tomorrow. FedEx came by 2 times now and I haven't been home to sign for my package. I will wait it out now, I need my computer.
What's the weather like in your area? It is getting pretty hot here. Today the high is 107 and tomorrows high is 108. A/C and water will fix that :) Have a great summer everyone.

Bible Study

Last night was our Women's study on the Patriarch's. We hit the halfway mark last night! Woo-Hoo!! I love seeing what God is doing in each one of us, He is AWESOME!!

Here are some gifts I made for the ladies (homework incentives)

The glass votives, candles and ribbon were all on sale at Michael's. The rub-ons I used are from Stampin' Up. My little Josh helped me put them together :)

It was my turn to provide the snacks so me and Josh made the 4 ingredient peanut butter cookies, (1 cup sugar, 1 cup creamy peanut butter, 1 egg slightly beaten, & 1 tsp vanilla) & a lemon pound cake.

I forgot to take a pic of the cake before we dug into it so I am showing you the half that didn't get eaten :)

We had a great night learning about Jacob's Ladder. This study is so amazing. Thank you Beth Moore for answering God's call to teaching, you are so gifted.

Park Day

It was a perfect day for the park. Joshua and I decided to take advantage of the beautiful weather and go play a little bit.

This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.

Mom

Thank you all for your prayers! Please keep them coming.

My mom is finally out of the hospital! She's not home with us yet though. She is now in a rehabilitation center. She will have physical therapy 3 hrs a day for 2-3 weeks. The hospital staff as well as Richard and I, think this will be the best thing for her right now. Mom has gotten very weak from lying in a hospital bed for almost 3 weeks. The therapy will help her so much.
Mom has been ill for the past couple of days. She has a horrible stomach ache. Yesterday they did a CAT scan on her stomach and couldn't find anything wrong. I think she may have some sort of virus, but I'm not sure. She has been through so much, I hate to see her suffer so much. Right now we are just taking it one day at time, trusting Jesus the whole way through.

Please continue to pray for her as she recovers.
